The Expendables: A short Review

I went and saw this movie with my brother and my father, and I found it to be rather bad. The explosions were good, the action was great, but the rest of it (which is most of the film) is lack luster and almost painful to watch. The attempt at forced characterization (apparently they are nice mercenaries?) and lack of any character development with most of the characters (including some of their names) not being explored in any way makes me not really care if they die. Don't get me wrong, I like action and such. I liked Rambo 1, 2, and 3.Those were good times. I like T1, T2, and T3 was ok. There was an attempt at making you care, but it falls flat on its face when you feel like you are being forced to understand them (there is a speech by a guy, and for me it was almost painful to watch, about a girl and a bridge) and is done in such a way that you don't care. But, the explode part was fun, and the action is solid, but the rest feels like a price too heavy to pay for that last part where the good part is. I would arrive later rather than earlier so there is less "meh" and more "boom!"
