You make me want to steal

Companies are still not getting it. Just because you put a few videos on the web doesn’t mean people won’t pirate it! Pani Poni Dash is an anime I recently got into, and they had the first 4 episodes on YouTube, hulu, and their official website. But, I wanted to see the rest of them. What choices did I have? I could either save up my money and buy the DVD’s (and being a jobless blogger, money is tight) or pirate them. Well, I’ll let you make that decision for yourself. But, I bet most people would pirate the show. So, what is the solution? I think it’s to do what they did with the original star trek; put them all on YouTube and have an add during a normal commercial break.
That way, you get at least SOME money instead of people stealing for you. And why not do it this way? Do you think it will hurt DVD sales? I don’t think it will, it could help in the end. People who see the entire series may want to get special features, or other stuff and get the DVD’s. They still sell the original star trek on DVD, yet it’s on YouTube for free. I don’t know how many DVD’s they sell, but it may be a good amount. I know I won’t pirate it now as it is there for add supported content. I support ads, and I think that will help keep the pirates down.
