Why BING is a good thing

Google, the king of all internet, needs your help. No, not your money or your clicks, but less of your attention. Now, I like Google, I think they are great for the web, and a centralized place to get things done. I love me the Gmail, and Google Calendar, Blogger (yep) and Google Reader. But, lets take a trip back in time; its 2000. Microsoft releases an operating system to the public. Nobody really talks about it, but it is now known far and wide: Windows ME. Around this time, Microsoft was on top of the world, and nobody could touch them. Mac OS 9 was out, and doing something over there. But, they were not much of a threat. So, Microsoft got lazy, and pumped out some crap. Like Windows ME, IE6, and Office XP/2000 (win XP came out in 2001).
So, to save Google from the “I’m king of the world” bug, I say we should use more Bing. But, that does not mean stop using Google Services. No, that is not what that means. I’m just saying that people should use Bing for SOME search. I switch back and forth. I have Bing as my Firefox search box thing, and I use it sometimes. But, I also use Gmail, and other applications, and even Google search. If Bing can hit about 25% search market share, I bet Google will put some pressure on Google to keep on going, and put more effort into more web goodness. Maybe Microsoft will too, because then they will have a source of income that is directly related to people doing things. Good times?
