anti-virus software are like gas stations

Gas Stations are like anti virus software companies; they depend on the need from an external company. Gas stations require car companies to continue to use gas as fuel. There are hybrids that don't need much gas, but they have a small market share, and don't matter that much. Hybrids are like the Macs. They don't need that much gas, but there is gas for it, and normal cars are like Windows, the NEED gas to work. Now, would people complain if GM had a few gas stations? I don't think so. Which is why I think its good that Microsoft released an AV solution; its a vital part of that eco system. Also, its not like this is the first free AV solution, so its not like Microsoft is doing something new; giving gas for free would be bad, but with that you are selling a finite tanager good.
