Not being a historian, or anything of the like, I don't completly understand Socialism. But, from what histyory classes and economy classes I have taken, I have a basic understanding, which is this:
You are taking money from some people and giving it to other people, and the government gives many services.
Well, well well, that sounds like what we are kind of doing now. Social Security? Check. Public Schools? Check. Public Education? Check. Food Stamps? Super Socialism. So, to those who say that socialism, at any level at all must really hate Social Security. Even the word social is in the name! Naturially, the people who believe that taxing the top percent to get more money to get the economy must want to end education, and all these other things. Right? Oh, they don't? Thats kind of weird.
The economy is based on the movement of money through the system. From what I understand, the top 1or 2 percent have most of the money in the US, and are nto spending most of it. Well, here is what I say; tax them more, and put that money back into the economy, and then the rich people will get more money as the money spreads around. In the end they get to keep less money they make, but get more money, as people spend money and the money actually does stuff people spend it. Spending money gets the economy moving, and since most of our money is in the bank doing nothing and not being spent, we have economic problems.
But, this is just me, and my crazy socialist ideas. I have faith that the American people will stop the government before we get into Super Socialism, and Communism, and what-not. Like is my state of Wisconsin.
